Followup CRM 2026 Roadmap

Written by FollowupCRM | Jan 15, 2026 9:01:40 AM
Every year, we get the same question from contractors, estimators, and sales leaders we work with: “What’s next and how is Followup CRM going to help us win more work?”

The 2026 roadmap is our answer for you!

Followup CRM has always been built by construction professionals, for construction professionals. Not in a vacuum, but alongside the people using it every day to track opportunities, manage projects, and keep relationships moving forward. The past year was no exception.

In 2025, we shipped major improvements focused on control, visibility, and efficiency — from tighter security and automated ERP syncing to smarter project management and faster ways to get work done in the field. Each enhancement came directly from conversations with customers who told us where friction still existed and where time was being lost.

Looking ahead to 2026, we’re doubling down on that same commitment. The roadmap ahead is about helping construction teams move faster, follow up more consistently, and make better decisions with less manual effort. It’s about keeping sales, marketing, and operations connected. Teams need tools that feel practical, not overwhelming.

Below is a look at the most impactful enhancements from 2025 and what’s coming next in 2026 — all built to support how construction companies actually work.

Major Followup CRM Enhancements from 2025

Custom Security Permissions and Access Control

Custom security permissions were one of the most requested updates in 2025. For growing construction companies, clear access control isn’t just about security, it’s about protecting data integrity while allowing teams to move faster with confidence.
Teams can now control who can view, edit, or push data—down to the individual user level. This is especially important for companies integrating Followup CRM with ERPs like Sage, Viewpoint, or Foundation. Many organizations limit ERP data pushes to specific roles to reduce errors and protect data integrity.

Kanban Board for Project Management

The Kanban board introduced a more visual way to manage projects. Teams can now see projects move through stages, track ownership at a glance, and customize which data appears on each card.

For companies managing large volumes of active projects, this creates better clarity, accountability, and momentum.

Zapier Enhancements for Seamless Integrations

Zapier integrations expanded significantly in 2025, allowing Followup CRM to connect with thousands of popular applications.

A common use case is syncing website form submissions directly into Followup CRM as new leads or projects. This reduces manual data entry, improves response times, and aligns marketing and sales more effectively.

Shareable Project Documents

Document management was upgraded with shareable project folders. Teams can now create secure, permission-based links that allow external partners—such as general contractors or clients—to upload and download files.

This is especially helpful for subcontractors working with multiple GCs, keeping documents centralized and organized in one system.

ERP Data Sync Automation

Manual data pushes slow teams down and create unnecessary risk, especially for high-volume construction operations that rely on accurate financial data. ERP syncing is now automated, removing the need for manual data pushes. Teams can schedule nightly syncs based on project status, ensuring contracts, change orders, and updates are never missed.

This is particularly valuable for high-volume construction companies that rely on accurate, up-to-date financial data.

Advanced Search, Dashboards, and Productivity Tools

Followup CRM enhanced its advanced search with AND/OR logic, allowing users to quickly locate projects by status, owner, location, or custom fields—and save those searches as reusable lists.

Custom dashboards and reports help teams visualize performance, pipeline health, and project data in ways that matter most to them. For added support, Followup CRM offers access to internal data analysts who assist with advanced reporting.

Productivity improvements also included:

  • Business Card Reader: Instantly create contacts by snapping a photo
  • Activity Actions: Complete follow-ups, send emails, and update tasks from one view
  • Mobile App: Full CRM access for iOS and Android field teams

What’s Coming in 2026

Each update below is designed to help construction teams work faster, reduce risk, and stay aligned as projects and pipelines grow.

Built-In Marketing Automation (Launching January 2026)

As sales cycles become more competitive, construction companies need marketing tools that stay closely connected to their pipeline, without adding another system to manage. In early 2026, Followup CRM will introduce native marketing automation (think Constant Contact or Mailchimp) functionality directly into the platform.

The new Email Marketing Module will include:

  • A marketing list page
  • Tools to start and manage email campaigns
  • An email campaign template builder
  • Metrics showing who received and opened each email
This allows teams to run marketing campaigns without relying on third-party tools, keeping sales and marketing data fully connected.

Advanced Permissions and Team-Based Security

New advanced permissions will give construction companies more control over how data is accessed.

Upcoming features include:

  • Customer-user security
  • Team-based permissions
  • Grouping users by division, region, or team
These enhancements are ideal for multi-division and multi-location organizations that need structured access with leadership visibility.

Dashboard Templates

Followup CRM will also release out-of-the-box reports and dashboard templates, allowing teams to access insights faster without needing custom setup. These templates provide a strong starting point while still allowing flexibility for customization. Visibility only matters if it’s easy to access. Your team will now be able to see what’s happening and what needs attention better than ever.
